Dimitar Berbatov makes Premier League predictions including Tottenham vs Man Utd

Dimitar Berbatov has backed Tottenham to get the better of Manchester United in the battle of his former teams.

The striker played for both, moving from north London to Manchester in 2008.

Tottenham and United are struggling for results currently with pressure mounting on Nuno Espirito Santo and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The latter is certainly feeling the heat more after last weekend's humiliation at the hands of Liverpool.

Solskjaer needs a response in the capital but Berbatov reckons the hosts will just edge it.

He told Betfair: "Unfortunately, I must say that I think Manchester United are going to have a difficult time after being humiliated by Liverpool.

"Now is the moment for Spurs to play United and if they are smart enough they will win the match. I think Spurs will take advantage in this one and I expect the crowd to really get behind them."

Liverpool will be looking to build on last weekend's impressive outing as their title charge gathers momentum.

They remain undefeated and take on Brighton, who secured a surprise win at Anfield last term.

This season though Berbatov expects the Reds to take control and pick up three points.

He added:"First of all, what are Brighton doing in fifth place?! Credit to them, they have had a good start and this is what I want to see, teams pushing and challenging the top sides.

"I hope they continue to do that and are up there at the end of the season, but you need to have a big squad for that, so it could be a difficult ask for them.

"Liverpool are too much to handle for most teams at the moment, Mohamed Salah is out of this world and right now I would say he is the best player on the planet. I expect them to get the win at Anfield."

Arsenal travel to the King Power Stadium in one of the games of the weekend.

Mikel Arteta's side are on an upward trajectory but the Foxes seem to have rediscovered their mojo, with home support seen as a crucial factor.

Berbatov said: "Arsenal are on a good run and are uneaten in five, that patience in Mikel Arteta is paying off which his good for them.

" Leicester are also doing well, and they have some quality players in their team. As much as Arsenal are very much an improved side, I will back Leicester to take advantage of being at home."

Premier League leaders Chelsea will travel to take on Newcastle, who remain managerless.

Despite that Berbatov believes the Magpies could halt the Blues and take points off them in the north east.

He said: "Newcastle are going through a big transition and they are still looking for a new manager. Chelsea are up there and have been playing well.

"But, I’m going to go for a surprise here, the Newcastle fans are in a new era and they will be right behind their side. I’m going for a draw in this one."

Manchester City, Burnley, Leeds and West Ham have also been backed to pick up three points.
