Dimitar Berbatov interested in Manchester United coaching role

Dimitar Berbatov has hinted he would be interested in a coaching role at Manchester United as he said it would 'probably be an easy decision' if he was asked to return to the club.

Berbatov spent four years at United between 2008 and 2012, winning two league titles and winning the Premier League golden boot in 2011.

The Bulgarian hosted an Instagram Q&A on Sunday and was asked about the possibility of returning to United as a coach.

"First they need to invite me," Berbatov said. "You don't imagine me going there and being like, 'I will be the new coach of the forwards'... and if they invite me then it will probably be an easy decision."

Berbatov attained his UEFA A Licence earlier this year and stated his ambition to gain a UEFA Pro Licence, which is the highest coaching certification available.

Meanwhile, Berbatov was also asked for his take on the David de Gea vs Dean Henderson debate after Henderson lined up for United in their win over Sheffield United last week.

The 23-year-old was at fault as United conceded the opening goal at Bramall Lane and De Gea was restored to the team for Sunday's 6-2 victory over Leeds United.

"The time of Henderson will come, for sure, but for now it's De Gea," Berbatov said.

Henderson could return to the United team for the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Everton on Wednesday night having started against Luton and Brighton in the earlier rounds of the competition.
