Dimitar Berbatov gives verdict on Manchester United after two Premier League games

Former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tactics have got the club "playing the football we know them for" once again.

The Reds made a perfect start to the Premier League campaign, defeating Chelsea 4-0 at Old Trafford, but dropped points against Wolves on Monday night.

Nevertheless, with their back four looking far more secure thanks to the additions of Aaron Wan-Bisakka and Harry Maguire, hopes are high that Solskjaer can guide the club back into the Champions League places.

Berbatov believes the current side are already showing signs of playing football like successful United teams of the past.

"The first half against Wolves was the old Manchester United, it was all there: aggression, pressing the ball, playing the ball on the ground, combinations and fast play on the wings," he told Betfair. "All of these things led to the first goal, which was great from Martial, it was pure football.

"So, there are signs that United are back to playing the football we know them for."

The Bulgarian believes that consistency will be key if the Red Devils are to keep pace with their Premier League rivals.

Berbatov added: "They need to now keep that consistently going all the time.

"It will be difficult because it is a long, long way to go but the signs are there for them to have a good season."

Dimitar Berbatov was speaking following the launch of the new Betfair Exchange Campaign which showcases the different ways to bet on the Exchange and includes a  ‘How To’ hub . For more from Dimitar Berbatov head to  https://betting.betfair.com/football/dimitar-berbatov/ .
