Dillon Danis thrown out of arena for smashing phone after KSI face-off

Dillon Danis was thrown out of the arena after smashing the phone of an interviewer following his first face-off with KSI.

MMA star Danis is notorious for his brash-talking antics and causing chaos at press events, having already punched upcoming rival KSI during a weigh-in for this weekend's Misfits Boxing card in Phoenix on Saturday night. The American attended the event and came into the ring with the YouTube star to announce their fight for January 14 in London.

Tensions came close to flaring up again during the heated face-off inside the ring before the pair were escorted out their separate ways by army of security. KSI returned to his seat while Danis immediately headed for the exits, but on his way out he managed to slap the phone of a video interviewer who was stood helplessly in the fighter's path.

Security quickly escorted Danis off the property while sitting him down outside with the rest of his team, with the interviewer desperately picking up his phone before following Danis and keeping the footage recording. The MMA star was held by both members of security who dragged him out, with one member behind instructing his team to remove him as quickly as possible.

This is the second time in quick succession that Danis has caused a ruckus at an event, having already punched KSI and thrown coffee over helpless media and promoters at the event. After being escorted off the stage, Danis was confronted outside the event by Jake Paul's sparring partner, Anthony Taylor, who threw a punch at Danis which connected and sent him stumbling backwards.

A mass brawl descended with both men's teams becoming involved, which saw the exact same interviewer at the centre of the ruckus. KSI and Danis will contest their rivalry on a DAZN pay-per-view in the new year after talks broke down between the British YouTuber and former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.

KSI is looking to step up the level of his opponents in a bid to set up the huge YouTube clash between himself and long-term rival Paul, with the pair already agreeing to a winner-takes-all clash. Danis has not fought for several months while struggling with an injury, but had been vocal in the build-up to the announcement by suggesting that he would be a much more lively opponent than Woodley.

He tweeted: “Nobody has ever seen me box. I’m 29, in my prime, and hungry. The world will see. A way tougher fight than Tyron Woodley. He lost every single round in his last four fights before Jake fought him and is a retired 40-year-old and completely broke, willing to take a dive.”
