Dillian Whyte has promised Dereck Chisora that “there will be blood” when the two men meet in Saturday’s feisty heavyweight rematch at the O2 Arena.
The first bout ended in a split decision victory for Whyte in December 2016, but the man nicknamed ‘The Body Snatcher’ is confident that he will find a way to stop Chisora inside the distance this time around.
Whyte is also hoping that a convincing win will put him in a position to lobby for a rematch against world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua – the only man to defeat him in 25 professional fights.
“Dereck will see how strong I am,” Whyte said. “I'm used to people trying to get into my head. I don't think even Derek himself knows what he is doing.
“I've had good learning fights and there's still a lot more to come - I'll fight anybody.
“I'll do whatever it takes to get the win, I conserve my energy, I'm relaxed. There will be blood on Saturday night.”
Chisora has been preparing for this fight with the help of former foe and two-weight world champion David Haye, and he warned Whyte to expect an even more aggressive and dangerous opponent than in their first fight, when both men traded heavy blows.
“Our game-plan is to bite the gum shield, seek and destroy,” Chisora said. “I can't afford [to rely on] the judges. I will pound him, hit him, pound him, hit him.”
Whyte, however, is confident that he has ascended to another level since last meeting Chisora, having beaten former world champion Joseph Parker by unanimous decision on his last outing in July.
“Let Derek do all the talking, you will see on fight night,” Whyte added. “There's a different animal in front of him this time.”
