Dillian Whyte produced a stunning 11th round knockout to beat Dereck Chisora in their thrilling heavyweight rematch at the O2 Arena.
Whyte clinched a split decision victory when the two stole the show in Manchester in 2016 and inflicted another defeat on the 34-year-old Chisora tonight with a brutal finish.
Chisora fought with the same aggression and power that saw him win over so many over in 2016 but was hamstrung by two point deductions - one for using his head and the other for a stray elbow.
Those errors looked destined to cost him the fight on the judges' scorecards before Whyte made it irrelevant, ending the contest with a vicious left hook that let Chisora unconscious on the mat.
While the fight featured the same explosive exchanges that made their first bout a fight of the year candidate, Whyte fought with more discipline this time around, resisting the urge to go for an early finish when he did hurt his opponent in the first round.
That tactic paid off with Chisora unable to maintain the relentless pace he started with, looking heavy-legged before Whyte went in for the kill.
Brixton’s Whyte is already the mandatory challenger for Deontay Wilder’s WBC crown with his ninth victory on the bounce bringing him ever closer to a world title shot on a night where IBF, WBA and WBO champion Anthony Joshua was watching on at ringside.
Whyte invited Joshua into the ring post-fight, telling the champion: "I deserve my shot, I've worked my way up!"
A rematch between the two could beckon in 2019.
For Chisora, his hopes of challenging at world level again have taken a considerable blow.
Earlier on the card, Carlos Takam dismissed Senad Gashi in the seventh round, calling out Chisora in his post-match interview The Frenchman was knocked out by Chisora in the summer but wants to return to London to avenge that defeat.
David Price, in desperate need of a victory following back-to-back defeats in 2018, stopped Tom Little in the fourth round of his undercard contest.
