Oscar Rivas wants his loss against Dillian Whyte erased from his record should reports that the Brit allegedly failed a drugs test be proven.
The Colombian dropped a points decision to Whyte, who was dropped in the ninth round.
Whyte therefore picked up the WBC‘s interim world heavyweight title and the coveted mandatory status for Deontay Wilder’s belt.
Yet a Boxing Scene report has now alleged Whyte produced a positive sample in his UKAD test in the days before the clash at The O2.
“The only thing to do is wait for what the International Commission of Boxing say because these are things that are really very anti-sporting,” Rivas told Colombia’s Canal 1.
“I think yes, if they want we will try and fight for the same title. Thanks to God I’ll continue unbeaten.
“The truth is this defeat caused me a bit of distress but the support of the people pushes me on, we have to go forward.”
Promoter Yvon Michel has confirmed his fighter Rivas did not know about the test until news broke on Wednesday.
"We have learned it yesterday evening when it was published on Boxing Scene," Michel said. "At the same time then everybody else."
Promoter Eddie Hearn insists Whyte was cleared to fight by the BBBofC, UKAD and VADA, who administer the WBC’s Clean Boxing Program, though he did not confirm whether his fighter had failed a test or not.
“Further to reports I can confirm that both Dillian Whyte and Oscar Rivas were subject to extensive VADA and UKAD testing for their bout,” Hearn announced.
“Both fighters were cleared to fight by both bodies and the BBBofC.”
