Dillian Whyte drugs test: Deontay Wilder doubts contamination in alleged failed drugs test

Deontay Wilder doubts there could have been any contamination in Dillian Whyte’s alleged failed drugs test.

The British heavyweight has been accused in a Boxing Scene article of flagging a positive UKAD test for a banned substance.

But Wilder insists provisions are now in place with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) that any supplement can be checked, meaning every fighter should be fully aware of what enters their body.

“I was like, I shook my head, it was SMDH, shaking my damn head (after hearing the news)” Wilder told Talk Sport.

“These guys know what they’re taking. Ain’t nobody just feeding you. You know what it does, how it works. Everything about it.

“Over and over again, how many times are we going to hear a fighter is doing this?

“It’s going to be a long time. There’s always another drug coming out that hasn’t been detected yet. You’re always trying to play catch-up. He (Whyte) was crying about not getting an opportunity. He had four opportunities, but he just didn’t want to take them.

“He finally became the mandatory and damn! Most of the time when the first test comes back, the ‘B’ test is almost always the same as the first one.”

Wilder has urged the authorities to change the system in order to limit the number of cheats in the sport.

“The system needs to change, for me, I believe in second chances, but I believe in a system of three strikes and you’re out,” Wilder revealed. “They have to lay down the law. We just had another fighter who lost his life.

“I would be furious, look at the things that have gone on, these two fighters that have lost their lives. If i was me, I’m thinking, that could be me. I put my life on the line. I’m a warrior.”
