Deontay Wilder has hit out at Dillian Whyte after reports of an alleged failed drugs test in the days before his fight with Oscar Rivas.
Whyte picked up the WBC’s interim world heavyweight title by outpointing the Colombian last Saturday and in doing so secured mandatory status for a shot at Wilder.
But after promoter Eddie Hearnresponded to a Boxing Scene report about Whyte’s ‘A’ sample for a UKAD drugs test returning positive for a performance enhancing substance, Wilder has reacted angrily.
“This s*** has to stop,” Wilder wrote. “The bleeding has to stop somewhere,
“We just had a fighter (Maxim Dadashev) f***ing die in the ring because of taking too many blows to the head.
“Him (Whyte) and his promoter Eddie Hearn gave the WBC hell (for not making him mandatory and forcing a title defence) while all alone this MF has been cheating smh then have the audacity to try and snitch on his countrymen Anthony Joshua and accuse him of doing drugs.
“Boxing’s a place where you can hate it but love it all at the same damn time.”
While Whyte’s ‘A’ sample from a UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) test taken three days before the fight on July 17 has returned positive for a banned substance, it is unclear whether his ‘B’ sample has been tested yet.
Whyte was previously banned from the sport in 2012 after returning a positive test for Methylhexaneamine after his fight against Sandor Balogh.
