Dillian Whyte has described allegations of a failed drugs test as 'rubbish' and insists he beat Oscar Rivas 'fair and square'.

Whyte climbed off the mat to bear Rivas at the O2 Arena on Saturday to become the mandatory challenger for Deontay Wilder's WBC heavyweight title.

A shadow has been cast over what was one of the biggest nights in his career however when it was alleged that the Brixton heavyweight tested positive for a banned substance before Saturday’s fight.

Whyte has denied any wrong doing however and hopes to resolve the matter as soon as possible.

“Speaking for the first time since the scandal broke, Whyte wrote on Twitter: "I am so disappointed with the rubbish that has been said about me over the last few days.

“I have lawyers dealing with it and I have been told that I can't talk about it for good legal reasons.

“I was cleared to fight and I won that fight fair and square. Thanks for the support."

The WBC said they have not received any notification about a positive anti-doping test but said that they are “reviewing the situation”.
