Dilan Markanday: Celtic, Rangers and QPR all eyeing move for Tottenham winger

Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers are battling it out to sign Tottenham youngster Dilan Markanday, who is also attracting interest from a host of Championship clubs.

Markanday, who made his senior Spurs debut in the Europa Conference League game against Vitesse Arnhem in October, is out of contract in the summer and the club want him to sign a new deal and go out on loan, though a permanent exit cannot be ruled out.

The 20-year-old winger, who is Spurs' first British Asian player, is also wanted by a number of leading Championship clubs, including Bournemouth, West Brom and QPR.

Cherries boss Scott Parker worked with Markanday during his time as a youth coach at Tottenham and could potentially offer him Premier League football next season.

Spurs believe Markanday has a future at the club but want him to spend a season out on loan before returning to challenge for a first-team place - much like Oliver Skipp, who is part of Antonio Conte's senior squad after spending last season with Norwich in the Championship.

Because Markanday is under 24 years of age, Spurs would be due a compensatory fee if he joins another club at the end of his contract, which would be set by a tribunal if he remains in England.
