In response to the increasing threat of mass shootings, numerous school districts across the country have invested in detailed digital mapping systems to aid emergency responders in quicker and more effective interventions during crises. One such district in Wisconsin was an early adopter, with the state subsequently providing mapping grants to around 200 districts.
A company called Critical Response Group, led by a former Army special operations veteran, has been instrumental in driving this trend. By leveraging gridded digital maps, the company has mapped over 12,000 schools nationwide, facilitating better emergency response protocols.
