Digital resurvey of land in the State that will be completed in four years will ensure documentation of land owned by people, Minister for Revenue K. Rajan has said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Malayinkeezhu smart village office in Kattakada taluk on Tuesday.
The Minister said the digital resurvey had been completed in 911 villages, while it was under way in 27 villages. An amount of ₹807 crore had been sanctioned for the resurvey under the Rebuild Kerala development programme. As many as 4,700 employees had been deployed for the resurvey and tender procedures had been completed. Technical knowledge suited to specific topography was being used for the survey.
The Minister stressed that before the draft of the resurvey was published, land owners would be given an opportunity to peruse it and address any grievances.
Total digitisation would be introduced to bring in transparency in Revenue department transactions. Not only physical conditions but dealings in the revenue offices too would become smart, the Minister said.
I.B. Satheesh, MLA, presided over the programme held as part of the government’s 100-day action plan. Adoor Prakash, MP, was present.
