Digital marketing agency bucks trend with recruitment drive after securing new business during lockdown

A digital marketing agency is bucking the trend and creating five new jobs to accommodate its growing order book.

Stone-based ExtraMile Communications has been winning 'significant' new business during the lockdown.

Despite having some contracts put on hold, early on, the company succeeded in closing new deals with a variety of national and international clients that have led to a need for more team members in search engine marketing (SEM), web development and sales departments.

As part of the recruitment drive, the company is looking for two SEM specialists and a head of search to take care of a brand new white-label business strand.

In addition, it is also seeking a senior web developer who specialises in the Magento platform and a junior developer.

Managing director Gabrielle Hadley said: "Growth at a time like this is quite exceptional. While the news is full of redundancies, we are keen to speak to individuals with flair and the skills we need to get the job done.

"The West Midlands in general, and Staffordshire in particular, is a great location for this type of work and there is a pool of exceptional talent out there - I now need to persuade them to come and work for us."

ExtraMile Communications currently boasts a 21-strong team of staff who deliver services including search engine marketing, web design and development, graphic design and global marketing services.

The company works with a range of smaller local businesses to huge multinational clients - in more than 30 languages - in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well as the US and Asia markets.

Gabrielle added: "If you ask me what the next step is, then I would say it will be more of the same. If we can grow through the lockdown and also through the previous two recessions, we expect to drive forward in the next couple of years, providing even more services to a growing range of clients."

Earlier this year, ExtraMile Communications celebrated its 20th year in business.
