Digital forensics firms join forces in new Birmingham office

A trio of digital forensic services firms have joined forces in a newly opened base in Birmingham city centre.

Eurofins Forensics Services, Edge Testing and Commissum have all come together for the first time in a new home, in Gas Street, in a move which will create 11 jobs in the city.

Eurofins Forensics Services specialises in law enforcement and HR dispute services while Edge Testing and Commissum work with business and commercial clients across various industries, particularly financial, retail, security and the public sector.

They will run three testing services in the single location - software, cyber security and digital forensics - which can be used in legal trials and their staff called to court as witnesses.

Eurofins Forensics Services has never previously operated in Birmingham so staff have relocated from Teddington while Edge Testing and Commissum were already in the city but in separate offices.

The three companies are owned by Belgian testing services provider Eurofins Digital Testing whose UK arm employs 680 staff across the country.

UK managing director Sharon Hamilton said: "By moving three related specialisms into one office, we are offering complementary services under one roof.

"Along with expanding our security testing services into the criminal justice arena, we will now be able to provide a complete end to end cyber security capability."
