Digital Covid cert Ireland: How do I update the cert on my phone after receiving my booster?

People across Ireland began to receive their new digital Covid-19 certs over the weekend.

The new code will replace the cert that thousands of people uploaded to the Covid tracker app after receiving their two jabs last year.

Once you've received a booster jab, you will receive an email with a PDF file with your new updated cert, which shows that you've received three vaccines.

A person could just use the PDF as proof of vaccination, although you'd have to zoom in every time you use it for it to scan properly.

The much easier way is to add the updated digital cert to the HSE tracker app.

But how do you upload it?

First, you need to open the updated cert on a separate screen such as a laptop or tablet to your phone, and pull up the PDF file, clearly displaying the QR code.

Then, open the HSE Covid Tracker App, and click on view EU Digital Compatible Digital Covid Cert.

Click EU Digital Covid Certificate detail and scroll down to the bottom and press delete.

Then simply scan the new QR code and your digital Covid cert will be updated to show that you've been vaccinated three times.

As of this morning, 2,396,329 people have received a booster jab while 3,663,934 have had the first dose and 3,609,647 have had a second.

1,063 people are being treated in hospital with Covid-19, 89 of whom are in ICU.
