DiGiorno is giving away its new Pineapple Pickle Pizza, but you'll need to time it right

This is why we can’t have nice things.

DiGiorno has made a splash with its newest promotion, offering a half-pineapple, half-pickle frozen pizza for free online—and the Internet was quick to embrace the unholy pie.

The company launched the promotion Monday, quickly running out of its pineapple pickle pizza, but plans to do additional drops throughout the month of September. (And, naturally, you can pick up some pineapple/pickle pizza merchandise, from $50 shirts to a pickleball set, while you’re at the drop site as well.)

Consider yourself culinarily adventurous? Head to the company’s website to track the weekly giveaways.

"From the DiGiornut to the Crust Cone, we love to push culinary boundaries and surprise our fans with unique innovations that spark conversation," said Kimberly Holowiak, senior brand manager for DiGiorno, in a statement. "We know consumers love to debate pizza toppings, especially pineapple and pickles, and we're excited to see how pizza lovers will react to this latest creation."

Pineapple on pizza, of course, has been a subject of debate for some time. And in recent months, pickles have also been thrown into the mix. Nestle-owned DiGiorno says there have been over 135 million views on TikTok for #PineapplePizza and #PicklePizza. So, from a marketing and influencer standpoint, that made this…unusual…pairing a pretty easy choice for the company.

The pizza itself has a creamy garlic sauce base and is covered with mozzarella, with pickles and pineapples each claiming half of the pie. (No doubt, someone will mix the two together on social media within days.)

No fools, DiGiorno does not plan to sell this pizza in stores. Like March’s all-onion pizza, it’s meant to draw attention to the brand for a limited time.
