Diggnation TV: I love it

Three years ago Digg, a site avowedly devoted to democratising the internet (whatever that really means) was founded by a bunch of very young, very silly uber-nerds. Initially it claimed to be a place in which people could "freely discuss" technology, however it swiftly extended its remit to include debates on pretty much anything. The advent of Diggnation TV has turned its creators, Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht, into cyberspace superstars. Their recent LA show was attended by thousands, and they were greeted like rock stars. The two of them, almost permanently drunk, host a video blog that makes Wayne's World look like the South Bank Show. Their dialogue - an obscene stream of consciousness - might begin by discussing the merits of some video game or other but will speedily evolve into pig-ignorant assertions about whatever major news story they have thoroughly misunderstood. The show appears every Saturday, and like Fox News, it is horribly addictive. I leave it to you to decide whether these two are an ingenious satire of American youth or a flamboyant, occasionally revolting reflection of the net's anti-culture. Me? I love it.
