'Different attributes' - Bristol Rovers boss explains why the club have signed Fulham striker Timmy Abraham

Bristol Rovers have signed Fulham striker Timmy Abraham on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old is brother of Chelsea star Tammy Abraham, and this will be his first taste of senior loan football after previously playing for the Cottagers' youth teams.

Abraham joined Fulham from Charlton Athletic's youth set-up in 2017 and is yet to make his debut for the club, although has played in the club's EFL Trophy matches.

Rovers boss Ben Garner said Rovers' fifth addition of the January transfer window was identified before he arrived at the club.

He said:"Timmy is a player that was identified by the club prior to my arrival and a deal has been in motion for a long time. We are therefore very pleased to be able to bring him in until the end of the season.

"This is an opportunity for Timmy to experience League football and for us to see if he can impact our team. He offers different attributes to what we have and the potential to develop as a player.

"We welcome Timmy to the club and hope he settles in very quickly."

Abraham joins Josh Ginnelly, Jayden Mitchell-Lawson, Jamal Blackman and Josh Barrett as new arrivals at the Mem this month as Garner continues to remodel his squad.
