Sunday's game against the Seahawks is unquestionably the biggest game of the year for the 49ers.
Of course it is _ it's hardly hyperbole to say that Sunday is the biggest game the 49ers have played in more than a half-decade.
It seems as if the final two months of the season have been building up to this moment, to this game _ a contest against their arch-rivals, their formidable home crowd, and their MVP-worthy quarterback.
A contest that puts the NFC West title, a first-round bye, and home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs on the line.
A contest that can effectively end a decade of torture.
And it's a contest that should result in a relatively easy 49ers win.
Yes, the 49ers should blow out Seattle on Sunday.
Don't take this prediction as some brand of Bay Area homerism or an effort to spike some tribalistic fervor. That's not my style.
But the more I look at this game _ and the contests and injury reports that have preceded it _ the more I see lopsidedness.
