Diet Coke is releasing a brand new flavour for Christmas, and it sounds delicious

Diet Coke has confirmed that a brand new flavour will be released ahead of Christmas this year, and it might just be the most delicious variation of the fizzy drink yet.

Following the success of Diet Coke Twisted Strawberry and Exotic Mango, shoppers can expect to see Diet Coke Clementine in UK shops and supermarkets this autumn.

Speaking about the release, Kris Robbens, Marketing Director at Coca-Cola Great Britain said: "For current fans of the brand who love new flavours and those who are looking for something new during the festive season, we’re excited to announce the launch of a new limited-edition flavour, Diet Coke Clementine.

"Full of festive flavour and with no sugar, it’s the perfect drink for the lead up to Christmas."

The drink will be on shelves from mid-October, and will be available in 500ml and 1.25L bottles.

Diet Coke isn't the only product getting a zesty upgrade ahead of this year's festive season.

Earlier this week it was revealed that ASDA is now selling limited edition chocolate orange and mint After Eights - a flavour combination that has seriously divided shoppers.

Posting a picture of the controversial treat on Instagram, Newfoodsuk wrote: "New Limited Edition Mint and Orange flavour After Eights from ASDA £2."

Shoppers were quick to react, with many unable to make their minds up on the new release.

"I hope these don’t taste like when you drink orange juice after brushing your teeth. Vile," quipped one critic.

Another added: "Wrong on so many levels! Mint only it’s the best!"

"Not sure how I feel about these," wrote somebody else.

Others seemed confused by the concept as a whole, as one Instagram user said: "Do you reckon every other one is choc orange and the others are choc mint? Or mixed? Sounds like mixed."

On the flip-side, though, some people seemed as happy as Larry at the idea of trying the new chocolate thins.

"These are another for the try list," said one keen chocaholic.

Clearly intrigued by the idea, somebody else said: "Gonna have to find these now!"

We'll have to wait and see to find out whether these are a hit or a massive flop this Christmas.
