Diesel vehicles entering Delhi despite ban, says minister Raaj Kumar Anand

NEW DELHI: Delhi labour minister Raaj Kumar Anand raised concerns over the persistent entry of diesel vehicles into the national capital, defying the ban imposed under GRAP Stage-IV guidelines during an inspection at the Singhu border.

GRAP Stage IV restrictions, including a ban on construction work and the entry of polluting trucks into Delhi, were implemented after the city's air quality deteriorated to the 'Severe Plus' category (AQI above 450).

Anand, along with officials, inspected the Singhu border and observed a continuous influx of diesel vehicles from Haryana, violating the prohibition on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles.

The minister directed authorities to disseminate information through various means and emphasized the need for proactive measures to enforce entry restrictions on prohibited vehicles.

Anand highlighted the Delhi government's commitment to reducing pollution and called for collective efforts from neighboring states.
