Diego Maradona: Watch Argentina legend’s greatest Napoli moments

Diego Maradona has passed away aged 60 following a cardiac arrest at his home in Tigre on Wednesday, and the Argentine legend leaves behind an enormous legacy.

While his most iconic moments came on the international stage with Argentina, notably with victory at the 1986 World Cup, his time with Napoli is unlike anything seen before, including a legendary scudetto in 1987 and 1990.

It launched the Serie A club on the international stage and the Azzurri have forever been grateful since, with his image and No 10 jersey synonymous with the Napoli blue.

The Italian club wrote in response to his passing: “The world awaits our words but there are no words to describe the pain we're going through. Now is the time to grieve.

The club continued: "It’s a devastating blow for both the city and the club.

"We are in mourning. We feel like a boxer who has been knocked out. We are in shock.

Always in our hearts. Ciao Diego."

Three days of national mourning have been declared in Argentina following his death, by Argentinian president Alberto Fernandez, who said: "You took us to the top of the world. You made us immensely happy. You were the greatest of them all.

"Thank you for having existed, Diego. We're going to miss you all our lives."
