Die-hard Liverpool fans presented with unique opportunity - but there’s a BIG catch

Liverpool supporters are being given the chance to purchase the ultimate demonstration of their love for the Premier League and world champions - but it won't come cheap.

International auction house Bonhams is holding a Spectacular Sporting Trophies & Memorabilia sale on September 29 in London.

And among the many items up for grabs is a vehicle registration plate with the number "LFC 1".

Described as "the ultimate trophy car number plate for a Liverpool Football Club fan" by Bonhams' catalogue, the item is on sale for a whopping estimate of between £150,000 and £200,000.

The last time the number plate "LFC 1" came to prominence was in February 2018 when an anonymous owner shared an advert in the ECHO for their possession.

Calling the sale a “unique opportunity”, the mystery seller was asking for £50,000.

Since, Liverpool's success on the field - winning the European Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League - has evidently resulted in the cherished number plate gaining significantly extra value.

There are some cheaper alternatives available, however. ThePrivatePlateCo is selling "LFC 63" for £5,335 although "S20 LFC" will cost £33,550.

Easier on the wallet is "UP19 LFC", which at least takes in their latest championship success. That's on sale for £649.
