'Didn’t do a job for us' Nottingham Forest fans split on former star after four-goal display

Nottingham Forest fans have been having their say on Karim Ansarifard after the former Nottingham Forest striker netted four goals in Iran's 14-0 rout of Cambodia.

Ansarifard grabbed his first five minutes before half-time and then his a second-half hat-trick as Iran showed no mercy toward their World Cup qualifying opponents, with Marc Wilmots' side top in Group C in the second round of qualifying.

The 29-year-old was signed from fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos last year on a free transfer and departed after just 12 games - and two goals - for Qatari side Al-Sailiya in JUly.

Ansarifard struggled with injury during his time on Trentside and a move away was viewed as the best option for all parties.

But has his latest display for his club changed Forest fans' minds about whether he should have stayed at the City Ground?

Forest fans have been having their say and you can read the pick of the reaction below...

@ ReissNFFC : I liked him, would have definitely given us another option after Grabban.

@ ForestAreMagic : Definitely, he’s got good attributes. Decent backup option. Astute signing by #NFFC bringing him in for free & selling him on for good money less than a year later. Presumably he’ll play more & will be getting weighed in financially for his services in Qatar, good move all round.

@ chunkymonkeyeh : Cambodia are ranked 205th in the FIFA rankings. League Two sides would demolish them. He didn’t do a job for us when he was signed to us and that’s why he was let go.

@ OvertonOfficial : Think me and you could score against Cambodia mate to be fair.

@ MichaelAndrew1 : They played Cambodia it’s like Man City playing Solihull Moors.
