Frank Lampard has described Didier Drogba as "the most incredible player" as his former Chelsea team-mate retired from football.
Drogba called time on a 20-year career on Wednesday evening having played 679 games and scored 367 goals, enjoying his most successful spell at Stamford Bridge.
Alongside Lampard, Drogba won the Premier League four times, FA Cup four times, League Cup three times and the Champions League once.
Lampard, who is now manager at Derby County, said: "He's one of the greatest that I’ve played with.
"He's a monster in the dressing room."
Drogba's announcement comes soon after fellow former Chelsea player Joe Cole also called time on his playing career, with John Terry hanging up his boots in the summer.
Upon Lampard's appointment at Pride Park, Drogba wished his former colleague well in his first managerial role.
"I might come play for few months just to support my man," Drogba wrote on Instagram in May. "All the very best my man, Frank Lampard."
