Didier Deschamps asked about Paul Pogba Manchester United to Real Madrid transfer rumours

France manager Didier Deschamps has been asked about transfer speculation surrounding Paul Pogba - and says he would offer his advice to the player if he sought it.

The £89million signing has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer amid suggestions he is unhappy at United.

Pogba has been linked with a move to La Liga, with speculation mounting that he could join Real Madrid this summer.

But his appearance in United's new kit marketing allayed some fans' fears, with the Reds understood to prioritise other players when it comes to selling this summer.

His international manager, Deschamps, has now been asked about the star midfielder's future - and said in a press conference: "I am not here to advise them. I can given them my view, but they have people, advisers, it is their career. What's important is that when a player makes a big decision, he believes in it.'

United signed Pogba for a world record fee in 2016 and he is effectively approaching the halfway point on a six-year contract, since United have the option of an additional year to tie Pogba to the club until 2022.

The MEN understands United will not entertain selling Pogba at any price in the summer amid a concerted effort by Real to seduce the World Cup winner. The 26-year-old was also involved in an altercation with a United supporter in the Stretford End after United's loss to Cardiff amid discontent over a number of his performances from some fans.

Pogba has been named in a 24-man France squad for their friendly with Bolivia and their next two Euro 2020 qualifiers against Turkey and Andorra next month.
