Didier Agathe has thanked Celtic fans for their well wishes as he begins his managerial career with Durham City AFC.
Agathe, who made 183 appearances during his time at Celtic Park, has taken over at the Northern League Division Two side.
The 44-year-old played in the 2002 UEFA Cup Final, and clearly has fond memories of his six years with Celtic.
Fans have been wishing Agathe luck since the move was confirmed last month, and today he tweeted: "Thank you to all @CelticFC fans for their kind words & best wishes as I start my managerial journey at @DurhamCity_AFC - I hope to make a visit up to #paradise to see you all and hope to see you at #Durham."
He went on to say: "Well done #Lenny and everyone at #Celtic #9inarow."
Agathe, who also played for Hibs and Raith Rovers, scored 11 goals in 183 appearances for Celtic.
The Frenchman told the Sunderland Echo : “It’s a great challenge and a great club. This is a really exciting project to be involved in.
“The club is looking to build on and off the pitch and I’m really looking forward to playing a big part in this journey.
“I’m really excited about this role. I’ve been coaching since my retirement, working with my Academy for over 10 years and I’m excited to transfer my knowledge and experience to build a fantastic academy for Durham City.
“I’m looking to build something here based on discipline, commitment and hard work.
“I want to build an exciting team that will win games and bring back the fans to Durham.
“There are good players here, we are in the process of adding some players to complement the current squad and I can’t wait to get working with them.”
