Didi Hamann makes big claim about Mo Salah on RTE's Champions League coverage

Didi Hamann was full of praise for Liverpool star Mo Salah ahead of their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

Salah has been on fine form this season with Liverpool and tops the Premier League scoring charts with seven goals as well as four assists in eight games player.

And Salah once again was in fine form as he netted twice for Liverpool as they beat old foes Atletico Madrid 3-2 in the Champions League.

And Hamann was happy to brand Salah as the best player in the world in RTE's coverage leading up to the game.

Speaking on the national broadcaster, he said: "The ease with which he scores his goals is effortless. His body strength - the goal against Genk where he wrestled the defender off. His body strength, his power, his pace, his finishing ability.

"I don't think there is any doubt that he is the best in the world at the moment.

"The Ballon d'Or is coming up, we shouldn't forget that around February-March he had a barren spell.

"But with the form he's in you've got a chance because he guarantees you 25 goals and he's been scoring these goals for a number of year now.

"They compare him now to the likes of Owen, Fowler, Rush, Dalglish, all these guys - they were all centre forwards! This guys is a winger, he plays out wide!

"The figures he gets year in, year out, are just remarkable."
