Arsenal youngster Matteo Guendouzi could be in line to make his senior debut for France in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Moldova in Paris.
Didier Deschamps left the 20-year-old on the bench in his side's 4-1 win over Albania last week but could call on the midfielder in his country's second fixture of the September international break.
Since moving to the Emirates Stadium last summer, Guendouzi has enjoyed a rise up through the pecking order of Unai Emery's squad.
Despite arriving from Ligue 2 in a surprised move in 2018, he has already won the trust of his head coach and the more senior members of the team.
Paul Pogba was forced to pull out of the France squad due to injury, and Guendouzi was the player to benefit from the Manchester United playmaker's misfortune.
Speaking ahead of the match against Moldova, Deschamps was asked about how he intended to use his squad in their second match of the international break.
"I will decide who plays," he said, as reported by Goal . "But there will be some changes. That seems logical to me."
Guendouzi stands a chance of being one those changes.
In the win over Albania, France lined up with Corentin Tolisso and Blaise Matuidi through the middle of midfield as the World Cup-winners lined up in a 4-4-1-1 formation.
Defender Lucas Digne and attackers Nabil Fekir and Nanitamo Ikone were subbed on to leave Guendouzi watching on from the sidelines with Moussa Sissoko and Steven Nzonzi.
However, there is hope for the Arsenal player against Moldova.
"Even if the players who played Saturday want to play again," added Deschamps. "It will not be the same team, that's for sure."
