Did you know that Bappi Lahiri wanted THIS Bollywood actor to play his younger self in a biopic?

The entire nation is currently mourning the loss of Bollywood’s ‘Disco King’ Bappi Lahiri. The singer-composer has had a long and fulfilling career. His journey has been so inspiring that many filmmakers had approached the legendary musician for a film on his life.

In a throwback interview with a news portal, Bappi had revealed that he was being approached by many filmmakers for a film on his life. However, he was yet to take a final decision on it. The iconic singer-composer had also added that he would like to see Ranveer Singh play his younger version in the biopic.

Ranveer has often mentioned that he’s a huge Bappi Lahiri fan and the actor even gave a special tribute to him at the 63rd Filmfare Awards.

Lovingly known as Bappi da, he was known for his hit numbers. He was widely popular for his songs in films such as ‘Namak Halaal’, ‘Disco Dancer’ and ‘Dance Dance’.

In the last decade, Bappi Lahiri sang songs such as ‘Ooh La La’ for ‘The Dirty Picture’, ‘Tune Maari Entriyaan’ for ‘Gunday’, ‘Tamma Tamma’ for ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, and more recently, ‘Areey Pyar Kar Le’ for ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’.

His last song for a Bollywood film was titled 'Bhankas' which was a part of the soundtrack for the Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer 'Baaghi 3'.
