Fresh comments from Tom Holland have renewed discussion about whether Miles Morales could appear in future live-action Spider-Man films, but the actor stopped short of confirming any plans.

Speaking on the Rich Roll Podcast, Holland discussed his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and his involvement in early creative discussions for upcoming projects. While he did not reference Miles Morales directly in the interview, his remarks about the future of the franchise and mentoring younger characters have drawn attention.

There has been no official confirmation from Marvel Studios or Sony Pictures that the character will appear in the next Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, Holland's comments provide insight into how future storylines may develop.

What Tom Holland Actually Said

During the interview, Holland described his 're-entry' into the MCU and his experience working closely with producers including Kevin Feige. He said he had been involved in discussions about how future films are shaped, adding that it was 'really cool' to see how long-term storylines are planned across multiple projects. Holland also spoke about the collaborative nature of Marvel productions and the balance between fan expectations and developing new stories.

Reflecting on his early career, he credited Robert Downey Jr. with supporting him during his first appearances in the franchise. Holland said he would like to offer similar support to a younger actor in the future, noting that he would 'love' to help introduce a new character into the MCU.

While he did not name Miles Morales, that comment has been widely interpreted by fans as aligning with the character's eventual introduction.

Why Miles Morales Is Being Discussed

Miles Morales has already been established as a central figure in the animated Spider-Verse films, produced by Sony. Those films are expected to conclude in 2027, leading to increased interest in whether the character could appear in live-action projects.

Within the MCU timeline, a reference to Miles Morales exists through the character Aaron Davis, played by Donald Glover, in Spider-Man: Homecoming. In Marvel comics, Davis is Miles' uncle, which has been viewed as an early indication that the character could be introduced later.

The MCU's recent use of multiverse storytelling has also made it possible for multiple versions of Spider-Man to coexist, allowing for different interpretations of the character without replacing Holland's Peter Parker.

No Confirmation From Studios

Despite ongoing discussion, neither Marvel Studios nor Sony Pictures has announced casting, story details or production plans involving Miles Morales in live-action.

Holland's comments suggest he remains closely involved in the development process, but they do not confirm any specific character introductions. His remarks instead point to a broader approach in which future films may introduce new figures while continuing existing storylines.

What Happens Next

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day scheduled for release in July 2026, attention is likely to remain on how the next phase of the franchise develops.

For now, the question of Miles Morales appearing in live-action remains unresolved. Holland's interview indicates openness to the idea, particularly in a mentoring role, but any decision on introducing the character will ultimately rest with the studios.

Until then, the possibility remains part of wider discussion around the future direction of the Spider-Man series and has not been confirmed by the studios.
