A man and a woman pictured on CCTV images released today may have witnessed a brutal stabbing on a Liverpool street - murder detectives believe.
Hassan Ahmed Mohamoud was knifed in the neck on Bentley Road in Toxteth on March 28, in a broad daylight attack that shocked the local community .
The 29-year-old was taken to hospital after the violent incident but died a short time later.
A man arrested over the brutal stabbing in broad daylight has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
Now Merseyside Police has issued CCTV images of a woman and a man they hope to trace, in the belief they could have witnessed the horrific knifing.
They have made it clear that they are NOT suspects.

One local said: "The lad who got stabbed had no apparent dispute with the man who killed him.
"It was a total surprise to him.
"They guy called him over... the two knew each other really well.
"They used to hang around with each other all the time.
"Hassan thought they were having just a little talk. The attack came out of the blue."
Detective Chief Inspector Cheryl Rhodes said: "We are keen to speak to the man and woman pictured as they could be potential witnesses.
"I would like to make it clear that they are not suspected of having any involvement in the offence, and would encourage those pictured, or anyone who knows who these people are, to contact us at the earliest opportunity."

She added: "Likewise, we are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the murder of Hassan Ahmed Mohamoud. You may have witnessed the incident, have CCTV or dashcam footage and any information, no matter how small could prove vital to our investigation."

A Post Mortem examination found that Hassan died from a single stab wound.
