Did the Titans deserve more prime time games in 2019?

When the 2019 NFL regular season schedule surfaced this month, the Tennessee Titans had just one prime time game on the schedule.

This will take place when the Titans face the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3 Thursday Night Football at TIAA Bank Field.

Did the Titans deserve more than this after knocking off some of the NFL’s best teams like the New England Patriots in dominant fashion in 2018?

Titans team reporter Jim Wyatt admits he was a little disappointed in the lack of national spotlight the quickly improving team is receiving in the upcoming season.

“Can’t lie – I was disappointed myself,” he wrote in response to a fan in a recent mailbag post. “Thought the team deserved more primetime games, and at least one at home. No dice. The three of four on the road at the start of the season is tough, and two of the last three vs. the Texans isn’t ideal.”

He also noted that the Week 1 matchup against the Browns will be a difficult one worthy of attention.

“As for the Browns, maybe it’s good to get them early before they put it all together, because I agree – I think they’re going to be good.”

While the Titans look to get more national attention, they’re going to have to show they can prove themselves as postseason contenders in 2019 and show some consistency on both sides of the ball to earn it.
