Did Sunday change your opinion on Chase Young vs. Joe Burrow?

Did Andy Dalton do enough?

That’s probably a budding topic surrounding the Cincinanti Bengals grabbing win No. 1 on the season over the weekend. Dalton re-entered the lineup and secured a win, casting an interesting smog over the 2020 draft debate between Chase Young and Joe Burrow.

Dalton’s play wasn’t attractive — completing just 22 of 37 attempts with 243 yards and one score just isn’t. But he put up some aggressive throws between misfires and pocket mismanagement and perhaps most importantly, helped the team avoid 0-16 after three weeks of miserable play from his supposed replacement.

As of this writing, Bengals fandom seems split into two camps when it comes to the top pick in 2020, which the Bengals remain on track to secure.

One suggests sticking with Dalton in order to grab an elite pass-rusher like Young out of Ohio State. The other says nothing is more important than quarterback and getting a draft’s top at the position — especially when he’s as good as Burrow — is the only way to go.

We’ll have all offseason for that sort of debate and if Dalton can win a few more games down the stretch it will only intensify. But now seems like a good time to retake the temperature on this topic given Dalton’s return and victory.
