Prince William has made a rare public comment about his younger brother Prince Harry while talking about the future of his oldest son, Prince George. The comments came during his appearance on Eugene Levy’s Apple TV+ travel series The Reluctant Traveler, which aired on October 3, 2025.
In the episode, William gave Levy a personal tour of Windsor Castle and talked openly about his hopes for George, who is second in line to the throne. The 43-year-old prince spoke honestly about wanting to create positive changes for the next generation of royals.
According to Page Six, when asked about his feelings on George’s future as king, William talked about the difficult childhood he and Harry went through. “I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past, that Harry and I had to grow up with,” William said. “And I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation.” He added that he wants to create a world where his son is proud of what the royal family does and a job that actually helps people’s lives for the better.
How William wants to change things for his children
The Prince of Wales talked about his wish to bring change to the royal family. “Change for good,” William said during the conversation. “And I embrace that and I enjoy that change. I don’t fear it. That’s the bit that excites me, is the idea of being able to bring some change.” He made it clear that he is not looking for big radical changes, but rather changes that he thinks need to happen.

William and his wife Kate Middleton have three children together: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. The couple has been working hard to give their children as normal a childhood as possible while getting them ready for their future royal duties.
The brothers have not been on good terms since Harry and his wife Meghan Markle left their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States. Harry has talked publicly about his problems with his family through his 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, his 2022 Netflix series, and his 2023 book Spare.
Even though Harry said he wanted to make peace with his family in a BBC interview in May, his recent trip to the UK in September did not include a meeting with William. Kensington Palace said that William was busy with royal duties throughout his brother’s four-day visit. Harry did manage to have a 53-minute visit with their father King Charles during the trip.
