A video claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an investment scheme promising a monthly income of Rs 25 lakh has gone viral on social media. However, the government has confirmed that the video is fake and created using artificial intelligence (AI).
In the viral clip, PM Modi is purportedly seen promoting an investment platform that allegedly offers earnings of Rs 85,000 per day—around Rs 25 lakh per month—with an initial investment of just Rs 22,000. The video also falsely claims that users can earn the money without any prior experience or work.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has dismissed the claims, warning citizens not to fall for the scam. "A digitally manipulated video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing rounds on the internet wherein he is promoting an investment platform, guaranteeing citizens of a monthly income of Rs 25 lakhs on an initial investment of Rs 22,000," PIB said in a post on X.
PIB further clarified: "This video is fake and AI-generated. The Prime Minister has not endorsed any such investment scheme or platform."
