Kylie Jenner has sent fans into a tizzy after sharing a series of Instagram Stories that seemingly allude to a foray into music. Anyone got a 2025 bingo card handy?
The reality star took to social media earlier today to share an X post from Charli xcx which dates back to 2016 and sees the musician ruminate on Jenner’s possible pop stardom.
“I hope Kylie Jenner becomes a pop star in 2017,” Charli wrote at the time, perhaps aware of the absolute masterpiece that is her sister Kim Kardashian’s 2011 single “Jam (Turn It Up)”.
While the motive behind Jenner’s resharing of the X post is not known, it wasn’t long before fans assumed the star was teasing some kind of music venture, as foretold by the brat oracle.
“Music in the works?”, one user wrote on X, while another, seemingly with a broken caps lock button, quipped, “SHE’S FINALLY RELEASING HER DEBUT ALBUM, YALL WE WON”.
Others called attention to the new link between Jenner and Charli, with the pair set to star alongside each other in the recently announced Aidan Zamiri-directed movie, The Moment.
For what it’s worth, Jenner’s hypothetical music career wouldn’t be totally out of her wheelhouse, since the infamous clip of her singing “rise and shine” to her daughter Stormi in 2019 went viral to the point of being contagious, and was truly robbed of a Grammy Award.
It’s a catchy hook that could rival the likes of Taylor Swift, but Jenner’s post was too cryptic to know exactly what she might be teasing.
Some fans theorised that Jenner was simply reacting to her new role in The Moment — which will also feature Rachel Sennott and Alexander Skarsgård — by unearthing a years-old tweet from its star, while others suggested she was promoting her makeup brand.
The latter theory holds weight, since Jenner also shared a bunch of posts about her cosmetics line, including teases about the return of King Kylie — an era of Jenner’s history remembered for its pastel wigs, lip liners and general BTE (big Tumblr energy).
Whatever the case, I for one am holding out hope for a “Rise and Shine” remix featuring Charli, with a sample of Kris Jenner echoing ever-so gently, “you’re doing amazing, sweetie”.
I already patented that concept, so don’t get any ideas.
