A source close to Aussie darling and alleged “celeb spellcheck” overlord, Keith Urban, has denied the claims he abruptly hung up on a radio interview after he was asked some scandalous questions about Nicole Kidman‘s naughty movie scenes.
Earlier this week, Adelaide’s Mix 102.3’s Hayley Pearson and Max Burford were left gooped and gagged after the “Blue Ain’t Your Colour” artist seemingly hung up on them mid-interview.
You see, the Aussie artist hopped on the brekky show ahead of his High and Alive World Tour, but amongst the questions regarding his on-stage antics, he was of course asked about his wife’s scenes with Zac Efron during a game of Wall Of Truth.

“If you’re happy to play this game, the first thing I thought of, with your beautiful wife Nicole Kidman being on so many great movies and TV shows all the time — I watched a movie with her and Zac Efron recently, Family Affair — what does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men, like Zac Efron, having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?” Max asked, before he said that the singer had left the interview.
“Did he just hang up on us?” Hayley asked before another person said, “He’s disconnected from Zoom. I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question.”
“Were we told not to ask that?” Max questioned, before revealing Urban was smiling on the Zoom video chat.
“I knew that was going to happen… He doesn’t like talking about his wife,” Hayley responded. “He hates us”.
A source responds to Keith Urban’s abrupt interview exit
After the interview hit Aussie airwaves, an insider who claims to be close to Urban denied the claims that he’d hung up on the radio show, labelling the kerfuffle as a “nothingburger”. Yummo.
“Keith did not hang up, period,” the source told PEOPLE.
“He doesn’t host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger.”

While the source didn’t reveal the real reason why he abruptly left the interview, they did say Urban is a “very easygoing” bloke and that he didn’t have any issue with the question.
Look, as someone who froths for good ol’ messy journalism, I totally get why Urban would’ve left the chat. Unfortunately, it’s how things go when you take a risk. That being said, we’ll probably never know the answer to that risque question.
