Justin Bieber fans are “losing it” after the Canadian pop sensation teased new music in a Twitter picture with Ed Sheeran.

Bieber, 25, posted a tweet featuring two pictures of both himself and Sheeran in colourful shirts standing in front of green screens.

He simply captioned the shots “10,” with his manager Scooter Braun also sharing the same post.

The tweets come days after Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp appeared to tease new music after he posted the same shot of the Perfect singer on Instagram alongside three tractor emojis and the caption: “This guy! Something is happening.”

Bieber’s latest tweet threw fans into meltdown as they attempted to decipher the meaning of the number, with one replying: “10 WHAT? MAY 10? 10 MONTHS FROM NOW? OCTOBER? WHAT.”

Another posted: “What 10? A song title? That Ed Sheeran in? 10 days? I’m dead. Been waiting so long.”

A third begged: “What this means? Stop playing with us!!”

Bieber announced new album after a surprise duet with Ariana Grande at Coachella earlier this month.

The announcement came weeks after he told fans he would be taking a break from music to focus on addressing some “deep rooted issues”.

“Music is very important to me but Nothing comes before my family and my health,” he wrote in an emotional Instagram post.

Bieber's last single release was No Brainer, a collaboration with DJ Khaled which dropped in March 2018. His last album was 2015's Purpose.
