Jake Paul needed just a minute to live up to the pre-fight hype and stop Ben Askren.
The YouTube star had promised an early stoppage in memory of his bodyguard 'Shadow' who passed away recently.
And he made good on his vow, sending Askren to the canvas with a one-two which left the former UFC star struggling.
But he beat the count and appeared ready to continue only for the referee to wave off the fight.
Paul extended his unbeaten record to three as a professional while condemning Askren to defeat on his debut.
The winner was non-committal about his future and admitted he had struggled in the build-up after being accused of sexual assault - which he has denied - and having lost his security guard Shadow.
"I'm going to do whatever I want, I feel like I'm living in a dream right now," Paul said.
"I've had so much on my mind for the last 10 days and I've had to hold it together. I've dealt with allegations, death... the list goes on.

"I don't know what's next for me, I've fought three times, talked a lot of s***, I'm going to enjoy my life for a second.
"When Shadow (his bodyguard) passed away it was one of the weirdest, most difficult things i had to deal with in my life.
"I still haven't processed it, it's hard and to have to hold it together as a warrior for my team...
"I had to suppress my emotions and when I got the 'W' it all set in, this is truly for him. I wish he was here to experience this moment.
"I said this fight would be easier than the Nate Robinson fight; at one point I was the underdog, that sounds crazy but i was the underdog
I knew Ben would sit there like a typical MMA fighter and have no head movement. I'm just too powerful."
On the undercard, former world champion Regis Prograis earned a bizarre decision win over Ivan Redkach when the fight was stopped in the sixth round when Redkach went down complaining of an illegal blow.

He was unable to recover and the fight went to the judges who gave the nod to Prograis by scores of 60-54, 60-54 and 59-54.
Former cruiserweight world champion Steve Cunningham, who last fought in 2017, outpointed former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir over six rounds.
Two of the judges gave the former boxer, who replaced Antonio Tarver at short notice, all six rounds while the other scored the fight 58-56.
Nightclub owner and self-proclaimed billionaire Joe Fournier stopped Colombian reggaeton musician Reykon who failed to climb off his stool for the third round having been dropped twice.
The bout was agreed following an argument over a girl in a Miami night spot and Fournier, who had eight professional wins to his name, ensured he wasn't embarrassed by the debutant.
He said of the finish: "It just kind of came out naturally. I wanted four or five rounds to get my feet back under me honestly. Everyone knows, I’d love Jake Paul next.”
