Rahul has felt the wrath of Great British Bake Off fans after he was accused of cheating in the semi-final.
The amateur baker was called out by eagle-eyed fans who claimed he continued to decorate his Showstopper despite Sandi Toksvig shouting: “Bakers your time is up. Bakers please step away from your bakes.”
Rahul, who was baking for a place in next week’s grand final, was spotted fussing over his creations as the Channel 4 show cut to an advert break.
Viewers were left fuming with many branding him a “cheat”.
One tweeted: “#bakeoff Rahul keeps working after the time's up every time #cheat.”
Another wrote: “Get ya mitts of ya bake Rahul, time's bloody up!!!!! #cheat #GBBO.”
A third posted: “Get Rahul out! He was still decorating his cake while bringing up to the table! #GBBO.”
The remaining four contestants were tasked with creating dipped Madelines, a Seven Veils Cake and a Parisian Window Showstopper on Tuesday night.
Rahul, who has been Star Baker twice this series, faced a barrage of criticism after half of his Madelines failed to rise and for presenting unglazed tarts and badly decorated eclairs.
But he survived to secure a place in the final, something Briony narrowly missed out on after serving up raw pasty and mixing sugar for salt.
On leaving, the wannabe baker said: “It’s ok, that’s the right decision, thank you for the kind words.
“I am sad not to be going through to the final but so happy with how far I have come in so many ways, what an experience.
“I don’t often say that I am proud of myself, but I am proud of myself.”
Rahul, Ruby and Kim-Joy will next week compete to be crowned Bake Off 2018 champion.
