Did Antonio Rudiger bite Paul Pogba? Germany defender ‘nibbled’ France star, says Roy Keane

Antonio Rudiger and Paul Pogba were involving in an extraordinary coming-together as the Germany and Chelsea defender appeared to bite the France and Manchester United star during Tuesday’s Euro 2020 game in Munich.

Former Manchester United and Arsenal captains Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira were working as pundits for ITV for the game, with the former saying: “I think it was more of a nibble, wasn’t it, than a bite? A silly thing to do.”

Vieira said: “When you see the Pogba reaction, he felt like a bite. I do not understand what he was trying to do that.”

Pogba complained to Spanish assistant referee Juan Carlos Yuste after a bizarre incident at the end of the first half.

No action was taken against Rudiger by referee Carlos del Cerro Grande but Uefa could look into the incident.

After Uruguay’s Luis Suarez bit Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup he was banned for four months and fined £66,000.
