'Did a number' - Pundit sees gulf in class in Notts County's play-off win over Barnet

BT Sport pundit Grant Holt felt Notts County 'did a number' on Barnet in the National League play-off semi-finals.

The Magpies were 2-0 winners at Meadow Lane with goals either side of half-time from Kristian Dennis and Callum Roberts.

Barnet tried their best to fight back, but Neal Ardley's side looked in total control after Roberts' brilliant individual goal made it 2-0.

"At the end it was a little bit of an exhibition really. They kept the ball, moved it round," Holt said after the match.

"They had the measure of them really. Once the second goal went in that was it.

"Barnet tried to chucked everything at it. They got their subs on and one had to go off injured, but Notts looked dominant.

"They looked comfortable second half. They didn't look under pressure.

"They moved the ball well and Callum Roberts has got a great goal.

"He was proably the difference. He gave them that threat out wide.

"Any time they were in danger, they gave him the ball and he got them up the pitch."

Dennis got the first goal with a header from Jim O'Brien's cross with former Nottingham Forest striker Holt praising the front pair of Dennis and Kyle Wootton for their performances.

"It was a fantastic ball in. This was just after Neal Ardley gave them a bit of rollocking on the sideline.

"He wanted a bit from them and they got the goal. After that, at the end of the half, they edged the game.

"They always had that threat. The centre forwards worked hard and took them up pitch.

"I was really impressed with how they moved the ball up the pitch.

"I felt they did a number on Barnet and kept the ball off them for long spells."

The Magpies will play Harrogate Town in the final at Wembley next Sunday.
