50 Cent is being accused of using cocaine on Croatian national TV, after a bizarre backstage encounter between the rapper and a middle-aged presenter at a concert in Zagreb on Monday night.
In footage now widely available on You Tube, Ante Batinovic , a reporter for Croatia Radio Television, accidentally walks into a backstage area on live TV only to interrupt 50 Cent and two members of his entourage who are bent intently over a glass table.
Batinovic, according to a translation, tells the audience of the nightly news programme Dnevnik that the rapper is drawing up "a white line" before one of 50's crew gestures for the door to be shut.
"We have to wait a little bit, this is what it's like with the big stars," says Batinovic. Shortly afterwards 50 emerges from the room, ready to conduct an interview. No mention of the earlier scene is made in the interview, though 50 promises lots of energy in his show.
Despite his past as a dealer of crack cocaine, 50 Cent has always denied any drug use. His publicist has also released a statement saying: "50 Cent does NOT drink alcohol. 50 Cent does NOT smoke. 50 Cent does NOT do drugs."
