Dick Advocaat set for Rangers reunion as Feyenoord green light gives managerial game away

Dick Advocaat will take Feyenoord training tomorrow, with his appointment as Jaap Stam's replacement expected to be confirmed today.

The 72-year-old spent just under four years as Rangers manager, and will face his old side in the Europa League on November 28.

While his appointment as Stam's replacement is yet to be officially confirmed, both De Telegraaf and Algemeen Dagblad report that he'll sign a conract until the end of the season.

Advocaat is expected to take training tomorrow, and will bring Spakenburg manager John de Wolf as his assistant.

The former Ibrox boss has previously worked as an advisor for Feyenoord.

Advocaat confirmed yesterday that he was in talks to take over, for what will be his first role since taking charge of Utrecht last season.

He said: "I'm not going to lie about it, I have been approached by Feyenoord.

"There is no agreement yet.

"Feyenoord will make an announcement in due course."

Advocaat spent three-and-a-half seasons at Rangers, winning the domestic Treble in his first season and following that up with the double in the 1999-2000 season.
