Dibyendu Bhattacharya: Haven't watched any film post-pandemic; will watch 'Brahmastra - Exclusive

From working with ace filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Aakash Bhatia, Srijit Mukherji, Abhishek Chaubey, and Vasan Bala to sharing screen space with some of Bollywood's phenomenal actors, Dibyendu Bhattacharya is known for his impressive body of work. "I have done supportive roles in all known films and that's how the industry came to know that I am a good actor," says Dibyendu who is known for his characters in films like 'Dev D', 'B.A Pass', 'Looop Lapeta' and 'Criminal Justice'.

The actor has a long list of people he wants to work with. "I have worked with ace filmmakers so far and would like to work with them again. I would not name anyone specifically as I am a very easygoing person who gets along with anyone. But I would like to work with Aamir Khan as he is one of the most fantastic actors I have come across. His way of work is phenomenal. Also, I wished to work with Irrfan Bhai (Khan), but he is no more," shares Dibyendu.

Bhattacharya has a few series lined up to shoot and feels that the emergence of OTT platform has given a new horizon to his career. With no looking back, the actor strives to work hard and carve a niche in this industry with his performance. He also believes that there is nothing like a cancel culture or boycott trend. He also states that there is no such thing called nepotism in the industry. "It is just a phase. People who don't have any work to do start these things on social media. If the content is good, it will bring the audience to theatres. I haven't watched any film post-pandemic in the theatre but I will watch 'Brahmastra'," he says.

"Also, people will not talk about nepotism if the film is made with 10-15 crore, they will talk about it only if the film is made with 100 crore plus budget. So all these terms are just timely. So one should ideally not think much about it," Dibyendu signs off.
