DIBRUGARH: The Dibrugarh district administration decided to shut down The Shiksha Valley School for a week on Saturday, following detection of multiple Covid-19 cases in the institution.
District inspector of schools Deepika Choudhury said rapid antigen tests were carried out among students and staff of the school, resulting in detection of several Covid positive cases.
"In pursuance of standard operating procedure letter No. ASE 01/2020/Pt 1/169 dated, Dispur the 28 September, 2021 and general guideline point No. 5 (2), Shiksha Valley School, Dibrugarh is hereby closed immediately for a period of 7 days as multiple Covid-19 positive cases have been detected in the school premises... the principal will ensure that the school building... is thoroughly sanitised," Choudhury stated. She added that the school will reopen after seven days with due permission from the deputy commissioner.
