Diarrhoea is considered a less well-known symptom of Covid, according to experts.
NHS Scotland currently recognises a loss of taste or smell, a new and continuous cough and a fever as the official symptoms of Covid.
But some scientists are calling for there to be a rethink on the list of symptoms, as it is believed that there are a number of conditions linked to the virus.
One listed by the Covid Symptom Study app is diarrhoea, which has been described as an early sign of coronavirus.

The illness often occurs in the first day of infection and builds up in intensity during the first week.
Symptoms generally last around two to three days, but can take as long as a full week to see the worst of the condition beginning to subside.
Adults generally tend to experience it alongside a loss of smell and is reasonably common alongside a sore throat and skipping meals.
Fatigue and headaches are two other symptoms that adults and also children have experienced alongside diarrhoea.
It is believed that one in 10 children with Covid have come down with diarrhoea, while this increases to up to almost a third (30%) of older adults who been infected with the virus.
Experts behind the Covid Symptom Study app say that the virus may cause diarrhoea as it invades cells in the gut and disrupts its normal function.
The symptoms have also been linked to an increased risk of needing hospital support.
Anyone who believes that their diarrhoea is linked to Covid-19 must self-isolate at home and book a test as soon as possible.

Efforts must be made to keep the bathroom clean and people should wash their hands thoroughly after using the toilet.
Experts behind the Covid Symptom Study app has urged people to be aware of a further 20 potential symptoms of the virus.
These include delirium, skin rash and changes to the mouth or tongue.
More information on these can be found on the Covid Symptom Study website.
