Dianne Oxberry's husband Ian Hindle said he 'still can't accept she's dead'

Dianne Oxberry's husband Ian Hindle said he still can't accept his wife has died.

Tonight saw North West tonight star Dianne remembered in a special programme, The Silent Killer, focusing on her memory and ovarian cancer.

Ian appeared on the show to speak about Dianne and how he and their two children are coping a year on from their loss.

Ian said: "It's not about accepting Dianne is dead I can't do that.

"You don't think I'm going to lose my best friend and their kids will lose their mum.

"Dianne's aim in life was after she'd finished her job was to come home and see the kids."

Ian said how at Christmas they were forced to take Dianne to A&E after her stomach pains and tiredness became very serious.

She was diagnosed on New Years Eve in 2018 and died just 10 days later.

Ian said: "The week before she died she said 'I'm not going to get through this.'

"The kids came into see her and talked to her and held her hand, but then the next day they came in and it was awful.

"You learn to cope, it's not about accepting that Dianne has died I can't do that

"It's been a real struggle but we always seem to get through it as a family."

Dianne's friends also said how much they missed their friends, with several of them crying on camera.

Her friend Siobhan said: "I feel bereft because I can't have that friendship with anyone else

"I feel sad for everything that she'll miss and that the kids will miss.

"I miss her desperately there is no one else like her."

And viewers watching also said they were heartbroken about Dianne's death.

SD said: "I feel like I've lost a friend. I have never felt like that. I think it's because she wasn't like a celebrity. She felt like one of us."

@adlynch said: "Gosh I miss @DianneOxberry so much. She was such a sunshine."

Emma Dixon said: "Watching @annabelvtiffin on Inside Out North West & remembering just how lovely Diane Oxberry was & realising how much she is missed from my TV screen."

The programme also saw other cancer survivors and sufferers share their story and doctors also revealed the symptoms people should look for.

Early diagnosis is key but other symptoms include a swollen tummy, needing to wee more often, nausea and tiredness.
